The Perkins Building was Built in 1906 and is listed on the National Historical Register. It was home to a newspaper plant for many years and in the early 1990’s served as the first home of the University of Washington Tacoma. In 2004 the building was converted to residential condominiums, office and retail space.Some unique features of the Perkins include:

  • The Perkins Building was the tallest reinforced concrete building in the Northwest.
  • First story finished in stone from the Wilkeson quarry; remainder built of Denny pressed brick.
  • Stone cornices dress the top floor in period elegance.
  • Marble lobby and art deco fixtures.
  • European-style interior courtyard
  • Rooftop deck with barbecue and entertainment areas offers incredible views at every turn.
